The Department of Emergency Medicine provides urgent and emergency treatment to patients arriving at the Emergency Room with symptoms, illnesses or injuries requiring immediate, sometimes lifesaving treatment. A patient arriving at the Emergency Room is given a comprehensive physical examination by a nurse and physician, who perform further tests, according to his condition.
In such a critical area, the Medical Center ensures that the department’s nurses are among the most experienced in Mayanei Hayeshua. Despite the large turnover of patients, the staff ensures that there are beds available for every patient likely to arrive, at any time, 24 hours a day.

Important rules for patients arriving at the Emergency Room:
• It is important to bring with you all relevant medical documents, such as x-rays, referrals, laboratory test results, discharge letters, a list of medications being taken, and any other relevant information. • Bring a physician's referral letter if you have one. • Your answers to questions asked by the staff on your arrival at the emergency room play a major part in enabling them to administer the right treatment as quickly as possible.

• Smoking is not permitted in the emergency room • The special character of the hospital is strictly enforced also in this department, 24 hours a day. • Persons accompanying the patient will be asked to remain in the waiting room and will not be allowed to be present during examinations.
