Systematic treatment procedure
The department's physicians are responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with urgent surgical problems throughout the course of their condition, accompanying them from their admission into the department from the Emergency Room up until surgery, and subsequent discharge within the framework of the outpatients clinics.
Nursing team
The nursing team numbers 8 nurses - 3 of whom are graduates - assisted by nursing aids, and when necessary supported by paramedical staff (a dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker).
Emphasis is laid on professionalism in a pleasant atmosphere, personal attention, and involvement in the patient's treatment and rehabilitation. This approach enables the team to provide quality treatment, while preserving the patient's dignity and rights.
Interdepartmental cooperation
The Department conducts its activities in close cooperation with the other hospital departments, including the Gastroenterology Clinic, the Radiology Clinic, Anesthesiology Department, Intensive Care Unit, Department of Internal Medicine, Pediatric Department, and Gynecology Department, and gives advice on surgical matters to all the hospital departments.
Surgery Clinic
The Surgery Clinic is open every day, both for the purpose of monitoring patients who have undergone surgery, and also to deal with semi-urgent surgical problems and regular follow-ups. An appointment can be made by telephone, with no need for a physician's referral or Kupat Holim health fund "form 17".
There is also a Pre-Surgery Clinic, which prepares the patient for surgery, and includes examination by a surgeon, nurse and anesthetist.
