Below is information on some of the tests performed in the fertility clinic.
Some of the tests that are performed in the fertility clinic are detailed below:
PCT Test (Post Coital Test)
A small sample of the woman's cervical mucus is examined under a microscope some hours after intercourse, around the time of ovulation. The purpose of the test is to provide a preliminary assessment of the presence and behavior of sperm in the cervical secretions. Today this test is used mainly for the religious population.
Ovulation induction (follicle monitoring)
This test, performed by means of a vaginal ultrasound, monitors the woman's ovarian follicle growth and the thickness of the cervical mucus, and gives important information about ovarian potential and ovulation time.
HSG (Uterus scan)
The scan is performed in the x-ray department. Contrast medium is injected through the cervix into the uterus, and the pelvic area is x-rayed – showing the filling of the uterine cavity with the injection material and its passage through the fallopian tubes, until its dispersion in the pelvis.
The test helps determine the normalcy of the uterus and the fallopian tubes.
IUI (Intrauterine insemination)
This is a method in which a concentrated quantity of washed and prepared sperm are injected directly by a catheter into the uterus around the time of ovulation. It is a painless procedure, performed without the need for anesthetic.
