Neonatal Clinic

About

At Mayanei Hayeshua, we believe in providing comprehensive care to every patient — especially the newborns and premature babies born here, and their families. We believe that care doesn’t end when a child is discharged from the NICU, but continues for as long as the baby and their family benefit from it. The neonatal clinic was established for exactly this purpose.

The clinic is intended for premature babies born before 32 weeks’ gestation who have been discharged from the NICU at Mayanei Hayeshua. After discharge, the baby is given an appointment at the clinic, with further appointments scheduled as needed. Care is provided by a dedicated multidisciplinary team: a specialist in neonatal medicine, a physiotherapist experienced in premature infants, a dietitian who specializes in the growth and feeding of premature babies, and a social worker familiar with the entitlements available to families of preemies. Because premature babies are more likely to experience developmental and nutritional challenges, the clinic monitors them more closely than is typical at community Tipat Chalav (well-baby) centers.

This multidisciplinary approach brings together everything a discharged premature baby needs, delivered by leading professionals — because we believe in full, comprehensive care for every patient.

Main services at the clinic

Physiotherapy

To build muscle strength and support fine and gross motor development.

Nutritional support

Premature babies gain weight differently from babies born at term. The clinic's specialists know
how to tailor each baby's nutrition to the appropriate international growth curves.

Social work

Parents of premature babies aren't always aware of the rights and entitlements available to
them. Where needed, families can meet with a social worker who can help them navigate these.

Important to know

The hospital is independent of the HMO, and members of all HMOs are accepted there.
Members of Meuhedet HMO and Maccabi are admitted to the clinic by presentation of a referral only or by payment according to the hospital's price list.
As part of the agreements with Clalit and Leumit HMOs, Forms 17 will be given to the outpatient clinics, or a payment will be made according to the hospital's price list.
