In cases where a patient is dealing with serious difficulties that carry an element of risk — as well as for patients who have been discharged from involuntary hospitalisation — the district psychiatrist or a court may rule that the patient must receive outpatient treatment. The length of treatment is set by the district psychiatrist, or, where it is a court order, specified within the order itself.
Patients come to the clinic on their own, at the frequency their physician has set, and the staff receive each person warmly and sensitively, to ease any discomfort the treatment may involve.
The calm atmosphere, comfortable and well-appointed treatment rooms, and dignified waiting areas all help to make things easier, supporting patients in continuing their treatment comfortably and with their dignity intact. The clinic nurse handles monitoring, the administration of medication, and longer-acting treatment given by injection, and patients can also apply for the rehabilitation basket or for other support suited to their needs.
The hospital is independent of the HMO, and members of all HMOs are accepted there.
Members of Meuhedet HMO and Maccabi are admitted to the clinic by presentation of a referral only or by payment according to the hospital's price list.
As part of the agreements with Clalit and Leumit HMOs, Forms 17 will be given to the outpatient clinics, or a payment will be made according to the hospital's price list.
