Urology Clinic

About the Clinic

The Urology Clinic treats patients with a range of urological problems, referred by community doctors or following hospitalization or an emergency room visit.

Areas of treatment at the clinic

Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH)

Bladder Tumors

Urinary tract stones

Conditions involving the male reproductive organs

Some patients will be referred for surgical treatment.
The surgeries performed in the Urology Department at the hospital are:

Prostate surgery
Removal of the prostate gland, most often for a malignant tumor but sometimes for benign
enlargement that makes urination difficult. Performed using an open or laparoscopic approach,
depending on the medical team's assessment and the patient's condition.

Bladder tumor removal
For malignant bladder tumors, a TURBT (transurethral resection of bladder tumor) is performed.
Where the tumor is invasive, a more extensive procedure may follow.

Cystoscopy
A diagnostic procedure for various diseases and disorders of the urinary system, including
tumors. A cystoscope — a thin tube — is passed into the bladder through the urethra.

Kidney and urinary tract stone surgery
When stones are present in the urinary tract, PCNL (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) may be
performed. This is a minimally invasive procedure carried out through the skin, under general
anesthesia, requiring a short hospital stay of a few days.

Hydrocele repair
Surgery to treat an accumulation of fluid in the scrotum, caused by failure of the canal through
which the testicles descend to close after birth. If the condition does not resolve on its own,
surgery is performed through a small incision in the lower abdomen under general anesthesia.

Varicocele repair
Surgery to treat enlarged veins in the scrotum (testicular varicose veins). During surgery, the
affected veins are located and sealed. Performed under general or local anesthesia.
