Department of Internal Medicine

The Department of Internal Medicine diagnoses and treats a wide range of internal conditions, including heart disease, lung disease, infectious diseases, metabolic disorders, liver disease, and more. The department works closely with other departments at Maayanei Hayeshua, and patients are transferred here from those departments for further treatmentwhenever necessary.

Some rooms in the ward are dedicated to intensive care, for patients who require closer monitoring and more intensive treatment. These rooms are equipped with additional medical equipment, including a monitor and ventilator at every bed, and have nursing staff present at all times, along with frequent visits from physicians.

The department’s team of senior physicians includes experts and senior consultants from a range of fields, including cardiology, neurology, nephrology, hematology, and more. Alongside the medical staff is a nursing team trained in internal medicine, as well as paramedical professionals. This multidisciplinary approach allows for a personalized treatment plan tailored to each patient’s needs.

A dedicated nurse coordinator oversees a clinical support service for patients and their families, serving as a liaison between them and the department’s staff.
