Congenital heart defects
Heart defects are the most common birth defect among newborns. In many cases, the defect resolves on its own and poses no danger to the child, now or in the future. In other cases, however, the defect persists and requires ongoing evaluation. The more significant of these defects may require invasive treatment or medication to prevent disease progression or a quality-of-life-limiting condition.
Cardiac arrhythmias
Arrhythmias require careful examination and diagnosis. While many are minor and insignificant, some require attention before they progress into serious or potentially life-threatening conditions. Depending on the nature and severity of the arrhythmia, the medical team will determine the appropriate course of treatment — whether medication, an invasive procedure, or another form of intervention.
