The Department for Communication Disorders offers advanced services in voice and swallowing, including a specialist Voice and Swallowing Clinic and ongoing consultation for inpatient departments. All services are provided by certified speech therapists.

Language and Communication
When a patient's speech is affected by neurological conditions, surgery, oncological treatment,
head injury, or other factors, our speech therapy team diagnoses the condition and creates a
personalized rehabilitation plan.
Voice and Swallowing
Voice and swallowing disorders can take many forms — from hoarseness and changes in voice
to difficulties with swallowing that affect eating and nutrition. In-hospital swallowing consultations
allow for early identification of these issues, so that eating guidelines and nutritional safety
measures can be adjusted accordingly during a patient's stay.
