In Saving Lives, Years of Research and Curiosity Converge Into One Precise Moment"

The Research Institute (RIM)

The Research Institute at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center (RIM) was established in 2020 to significantly advance the standard and quality of care and improve outcomes through research and development. In its initial stage, research focuses on mental health and women’s health, with plans to expand into additional fields in the future.

The Institute provides researchers with access to advanced technologies, tests, and services available at the medical center. Led by Dr. Or Friedman, the team advises researchers, broadens their capabilities, and fosters collaborations with partners in Israel and around the world — generating discoveries and insights that shape treatment and benefit patients.

RIM supports mental health and women’s health research by providing technical support and high-quality services, along with access to the resources researchers need, such as controlled access to databases and their analysis, support for publications, advice, and training. This helps answer not only today’s research questions but also the medical needs of tomorrow.

The Institute primarily supports the medical center’s own staff, helping translate technology into medical practice and streamline processes. Its collaborations include Tel Aviv University, Bar- Ilan University, the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT), and the Jerusalem College of Technology (Lev Academic Center).

RIM's vision is to improve quality of care through extensive access to unique patient populations. Its central location, the rapid and continuous growth in patients and medical staff, the breadth of its facilities and fields of care, and its early adoption of advanced technologies all help bring that vision to life.

A dedicated team at the Institute carries out this research using purpose-built software, combining three pillars: AI, big data, and NLP.

Simulation Center

The Simulation Center provides advanced training for medical teams, preparing them to handle complex and emergency situations through realistic, scenario-based simulations. Sessions are led by senior physicians and instructors using advanced equipment and technology that
recreate a wide range of real-life medical conditions.

Training is tailored to different fields and teams, including neonatal and NICU care, paediatrics, women and maternity care, adult medicine, and emergency medicine. Topics include resuscitation, ventilation, neonatal IV procedures, paediatric sedation, childbirth emergencies, complex maternity cases, care of ventilated patients, urgent medical treatment, and more.

Ongoing simulation training and repeated practice in realistic environments equip teams to respond more effectively in emergencies — and help save lives.

200+ simulations annually, led by 20 senior instructors. 200+ simulations annually, led by 20 senior instructors.
