The Men’s Ward, part of the Mental Health Department at Mayanei Hayeshua, provides inpatient care for patients whose condition requires hospitalisation, offering continuous treatment and monitoring. Patients have access to an exceptionally wide range of treatments and services, carefully adapted to the needs of the ultra-Orthodox community.
The ward is staffed by an expert, dedicated team that supports each patient with the utmost sensitivity, in keeping with the vision of the Mental Health Department, where maintaining a pleasant environment and protecting each patient’s dignity are central to recovery and rehabilitation. The team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and experienced, sensitive nurses, alongside allied health staff such as art therapists and occupational therapists.
Care on the ward follows a case-manager model, in which one professional supports the patient closely and coordinates all the different aspects of their treatment. This begins with assessing the patient’s needs and building a treatment plan, and continues throughout the hospital stay, with a commitment to excellence and compassion at every stage.
Treatment takes place daily, from the morning and throughout the day, combining individual and group therapy, talking therapy, activity-based therapy, and more. Patients on the ward also have access to a gym, and to a team of specially trained volunteers who take part in the treatment and rehabilitation process.
Throughout a patient’s stay, the team keeps relatives informed, recognising that family involvement is vital to recovery and makes a real difference to the patient’s quality of life, both now and in the future.
Rehabilitation is given great importance here and is an integral part of the process. We recognise that a hospital stay is limited in length and is only one part of a patient’s wider journey back to full functioning and life in the community. The ward’s staff also help patients access their entitlements, supported in this by the hospital’s intake department, which speeds up procedures with the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) to make things easier for patients and their families.
The hospital is independent of the HMO, and members of all HMOs are accepted there.
Members of Meuhedet HMO and Maccabi are admitted to the clinic by presentation of a referral only or by payment according to the hospital's price list.
As part of the agreements with Clalit and Leumit HMOs, Forms 17 will be given to the outpatient clinics, or a payment will be made according to the hospital's price list.
