About the Department

The surgical department at Maayanei HaYeshua Medical Center is a leading center for advanced surgeries and treatments, by a team of senior experts. The department, which is an integral part of the surgical division at Ichilov[1.1], operates specialized clinics in a variety of fields, in which the team performs diagnostics, treatment, surgery and monitoring with advanced technologies. The comprehensive medical response includes personalized guidance for patients, including during the recovery and rehabilitation stages.
The department operates as part of the professional cooperation agreement between Maayanei HaYeshu
Medical Center and Ichilov Hospital, allowing patients to enjoy a wide range of services and treatments from specialist physicians in Israel, with a high availability of appointments. The operating rooms are equipped with the most advanced equipment in the world, with technologies that enable a wide variety of of surgeries: robotic surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries, open surgeries, surgeries performed with scanning and various laser operations.

Patient Information

The operating rooms in the Surgical Division provide services to all hospital departments.

Important Information

The hospital is independent of the HMO, and members of all HMOs are accepted there.
Members of Meuhedet HMO and Maccabi are admitted to the clinic by presentation of a referral only or by payment according to the hospital's price list.
As part of the agreements with Clalit and Leumit HMOs, Forms 17 will be given to the outpatient clinics, or a payment will be made according to the hospital's price list.

Dr. Michael Belcher

Senior Specialist in General Surgery

Dr. Michael Belcher, a graduate of the Saint Petersburg State University Faculty of Medicine in Russia, is a specialist in General Surgery at Mayanei HaYeshua Medical Center.
He completed clinical rotations during his internship at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv, and later specialized in General Surgery at Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
He served as an administrative physician at Maccabi Healthcare Services and was also responsible for hospital quality control at Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan.
He currently serves as a general surgeon for Maccabi Healthcare Services in the city of Kfar Saba and the town of Kfar Yona.

Dr. Shay Maron Eldar

Specialist in Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Shay Maron Eldar, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Be’er Sheva, is a specialist in bariatric surgery at Mayanei HaYeshua Medical Center.
He completed a rotating clinical internship at Carmel Medical Center in Haifa and served as a resident in Department of Surgery C at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer.
He completed his specialization in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
He later served as a Research Fellow and Clinical Fellow at the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA.
Since then, he has served as Head of the Bariatric Surgery Unit at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv.

Dr. Moshe Koller

Head of the Surgical Division

Dr. Moshe Koller, a graduate of the University of Bologna in Italy, serves as Head of the Surgical Division at Mayanei HaYeshua Medical Center.
He completed his internship at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, where he later specialized in General Surgery.
He served as a Research Fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, USA.
He worked as a Senior Surgeon in the Surgical Oncology Department at Sheba Medical Center, where he also provided colorectal surgical services to patients.
He later served as Deputy Head of the Surgical Oncology Department at Sheba Medical Center.
He taught a course in colorectal surgery at St Mark’s Hospital in London, England.
In addition, he served as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Tel Aviv University and as Head of the Colorectal Surgery Unit at Sheba Medical Center.
