Home / Clinics & Institutes / Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic
The ENT Clinic treats problems of the ears, nose, and mouth in both adults and children. Each patient undergoes a thorough diagnostic assessment that may include hearing tests, imaging, and sometimes endoscopic examination, to identify the source of the problem and determine the right treatment.
Most ENT conditions have effective treatments today, but early diagnosis matters – many problems worsen or become chronic if not addressed promptly.

Snoring
Snoring is caused by a partial obstruction in the upper airways during sleep. It is common and
often harmless, but can sometimes signal a more significant issue. Treatment begins with an
assessment of anatomical and clinical factors, followed by conservative treatment, a dental
device, or surgery to correct the obstruction, depending on the cause.
Blocked nose
A blocked nose can result from allergy, a deviated septum, nasal polyps, or recurrent infections.
A chronic blockage can affect quality of life and normal breathing. Treatment is tailored to the
cause and may include anti-allergy medication, topical steroids, nasal irrigation, or surgery to
straighten the septum or remove polyps.
Thick nasal mucus
A runny nose with thick mucus usually indicates a chronic inflammatory process or sinus
infection, and may be accompanied by facial pressure or headaches. Diagnosis is based on
clinical examination and imaging, after which the team will decide between medication and
surgical intervention to open the sinuses.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea is characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep, a drop in oxygen levels, and
daytime fatigue. Diagnosis is made with a sleep study, and treatment options include weight
loss, a CPAP device, or surgical intervention to widen the airway.
Hearing loss
Hearing loss can result from a build-up of wax or fluid in the ear, damage to the cochlear nerve,
or hereditary factors. It affects quality of life and day-to-day communication. Treatment is tailored
to the cause and may include wax removal, medication, reconstructive surgery, or fitting
advanced hearing aids.
Fluid in the ear
Fluid in the middle ear is common in children and can sometimes affect adults too. It causes
hearing loss and, in children, may also delay speech development. Treatment ranges from
monitoring and anti-inflammatory medication to a minor surgical procedure to insert grommets
and improve ear ventilation in recurring cases.
Hoarseness
Hoarseness can be caused by inflammation, voice strain, benign growths on the vocal cords, or
neurological conditions. Diagnosis is through examination of the vocal cords. Treatment
includes vocal rest, medication, and sometimes surgery.
Dizziness
Dizziness usually originates in the vestibular system of the inner ear, but can also have
neurological or cardiac causes. It presents as a sense of spinning or unsteadiness. Following
diagnosis, the team will decide on vestibular physiotherapy, medication, or surgical intervention.
